The Pro-Life Movement: Dangerous, Selfish, Lazy:
When a living, air-breathing human being actually comes into the world, being “pro-life” becomes infinitely harder. This requires you to actually care about people. The sort of care that takes a critical mind, patience, and self awareness. The sort of care that requires figuring out why things are the way they are so that you can work toward actually fixing them. The sort of care that takes compassion and an unending dedication to a better for life for all humans.
The sort of care that marching around, waving huge dead baby posters, and calling women murderers is completely and utterly devoid of.

Ok honestly… lay off Christians… lay off Christmas… I realize that in the past the christians came in, ran pagans out of their homes and slaughtered them, then rewrote histories and myths of the holiday. That was the past. Yes there are still bigoted, hating people, and you know what the people…
“You get mad, and frustrated when someone tells you that you are wrong, you heart when someone tells you that the things you grew up solidly believing in is wrong, So why would it ever occur to you to inflict that kind of torture and pain into someone else’s life?”

Yeah, it hurts loads to find out that all my life I’ve been spoon-fed racist lies that hurt people of color, but you want to know what hurts more? Being a person of color constantly surrounded by racists because “that’s just what we were taught”. And don’t say “But I wasn’t talking about race”: first of all, Christian supremacy is highly tied into racism. Second of all, your words apply to everything.
We are mislead. We are purposefully fed falsehoods about everything in our lives to make the people in power comfortable,. If you would rather sit there and be comfortable than acknowledge the damage that these falsehoods do- then you are putting your comfort above the safety of other people. Think about that. People aren’t denying the truth because they need to be safe, they do it to be comfortable at the expense of a great many people.
I have been hurt by these falsehoods. People have been killed, people have been left to bleed out in hospital parking lots, people have been fired, people have been raped and tortured and pushed to suicide- all because of these falsehoods that we were raised with. This is not the past. This is today. This is happening this very minute. People are being tormented for their religion, gender, sexuality, and race. At. This. Moment.
I don’t care if it makes you uncomfortable.
Choosing to stick to the falsehoods, condemning people for speaking out against them: You are purposefully adding to the suffering of these people. You are telling me that I don’t deserve to be safe with respect because it makes people “uncomfortable”.
Think about that.
I want you to really think about what kind of a person you are that you would choose to avoid a tiny, piddling bit of discomfort at the cost of people’s lives.
You really think that all Christians are so pathetic that they’d rather ignore the damage that erasing and demonizing other religions does just so that they don’t have to “feel bad”? Because I’d like to have a little bit more faith in humanity.
You aren’t preaching “religious tolerance”- religious tolerance requires people to be able to say “Happy Holidays” without the privileged class getting uncomfy- you’re preaching Supremacy, you’re preaching that people who practice the religions Christianity has mangled and hurt and continues to attack don’t deserve the same respect and dignity that Christians do.
