married to trouble

How did your brain even learn human speech? I'm just so curious.

War is old men protecting their property by sending young men – rich, old men protecting their property by sending middle-class and lower-class, young men off to die. It always has been. It’s all about owning things. All of this back-and-forth and debate implies that there are really choices in this country, that we really have choices, freedom of choice…

There is no real choice. They say, “freedom of choice.” You’re given an illusion of choice. Americans are meant to feel free by the exercise of meaningless choices. You know what the choices are in this country? “Paper or plastic.” “Aisle or window.” “Smoking or non-smoking.” Those are your real choices. You don’t get to choose anything.

stfuprolife:

the ignorance of this question is astounding

Ignorant because everyone should just know that by being anti-choice, you are simply not a feminist by definition or value?

I agree.

I had a pro-lifer on Twitter argue with me that I wasn’t being inclusive because I think an anti-choice fundamentalist Christian has no business labeling themselves as a feminist.

While I am hardly the type of person who would tell other people how to identify themselves… um yeah.  It is utterly ignorant to subscribe to something as patriarchal as a fundamentalist religion that historically oppresses and degrades women and call yourself a feminist.  It is equally ignorant to think that by outlawing abortion in all circumstances that you are doing anything positive for any uterus bearing person aside from defining them as a person who has a baby-oven inside hir body and not an autonomous human being with rights.

My mom is telling me a story about a family member that died of an illegal abortion.

rosyeyes:

toweirdtolivetoraretodie:

this was back when abortion was illegal.

The whole story made me sick to my stomach. It’s crazy the things you find out family.

I plan to fight for safe and legal abortion in her memory.

No woman should be forced to the back alley.

Repeat: “No woman should be forced to the back alley.”

Abortion will not go away if the conservatives are successful in re-illegalizing it. More people will die, though.

I would modify this with a more inclusive “noone should be forced to the back alley”, as more people than just women are able to get pregnant.  But yes.  This.

My mother told me a similar story when I was a teenager; a relative of ours died of a coathanger abortion.  Ever since I’ve been pro-choice.  No one should have to die that way; over the course of three days, bleeding and infected.

We haven’t had this right long, we absolutely must fight to keep it.  ABORTION AND BIRTH CONTROL ON DEMAND WITHOUT APOLOGY.

Cease Silence: Hey pro-lifers abusing the Troy Davis situation to serve your anti-choice agenda

theoppressedlittlefetus:

depressingfacts:

Shut the fuck up. Have you no basic decency or respect?

That awkward moment you go through the pro-life tag and it’s all about Troy Davis and saving the innocent babies because all life is sacred and only God can judge.

Is there nothing that…
