if you’re anti-choice i literally hate you

i get that a lot of pro-choice people might think i’m harsh but

i’m not sorry

i don’t feel bad for being angry

a pregnancy would kill me and you’d rather encourage me to die

and i. hate. you.

AGREED HEARTILY

Hate isn’t even a strong enough word to be perfectly honest.

If someone tells me they’re pro-life I can’t talk to them anymore.

Dear Pro-Life,

glittertitties:

I don’t need to be nice, and I won’t be. I’ll cut you down where you stand. You don’t care about me, about my body, and I don’t give two flying fucks about your goddamn feelings.

I hope when I insult you that you feel it. I hope you feel as insulted as I when you demand control over my body and my life as if I’m nothing more than breeding stock.

I hope when I yell and scream that it hurts your feelings, I hope it hurts as much as knowing there’s an entire group of people in the world that would rather I die than save my life.

I hope you get called out, and I hope it never stops. I hope you feel as vulnerable and alone as the women I’ve escorted to the clinic do as countless hateful bigots scream obscenities and rip the last shred of privacy away from them.

I hope you get shit for “your opinion.” I hope it continues until you shut up. I hope you feel as silenced and backed into a corner as those you shame for making private medical decisions.

Most of all, I hope you realize how much I despise each and every one of you, and I hope you know, I’m not fucking sorry.

We were deeply saddened to hear the news about Savita Halappanavar – a woman who died after being denied a life-saving abortion in Ireland. There are too many stories like Savita’s out there and many countries – other than Ireland – where abortion remains illegal. Remember Savita and the importance of access to safe and legal abortion in the United States and around the world. Please share this in support.

Scott DesJarlais, Pro-Life Republican Congressman And Doctor, Pressured Mistress Patient To Get Abortion | Huffington Post

prolifehypocrisy:

I don’t think I’ve covered this yet, and that’s a shame because this just might be the biggest pro-life hypocrite of all time.

A pro-life, family-values congressman who worked as a doctor before winning election as a Tea Party-backed Republican had an affair with a patient and later pressured her to get an abortion, according to a phone call transcript obtained by The Huffington Post.

Pretty bad, huh?

DesJarlais, who was provided a copy of the transcript by HuffPost, did not deny its contents, but in a statement released through his campaign characterized it as just another sordid detail dredged up by the opposition. “Desperate personal attacks do not solve our nation’s problems, yet it appears my opponents are choosing to once again engage in the same gutter politics that CBS news called the dirtiest in the nation just 2 years ago.”

Hey, you’re butting into the personal lives of millions of people. And your life is somehow off-limits?

The strangest thing about this is that it was reportedly him who made this tape.

What’s more, this tape was made when he was going through a divorce, which has some more awful details:

A narrator in the ad describes how DesJarlais was cited in the documents for “firing an unloaded gun outside her bedroom door, putting the gun in his own mouth for three hours.” The female narrator also notes that DesJarlais — “a rich man — went to court to cut his child support payments.”

Really not surprising.

Apparently now he’s handling this story with the claim that the woman was never actually pregnant.

But does that really make a difference? He calls himself a pro-life politician. He thinks that abortion is wrong and claims to oppose forced abortions, yet he tried to pressure someone into it himself.

It’s times like these when I think that pro-life claims of coercion, irresponsibility and using abortion as an “easy way out” are just pure projection.

If you want to prevent abortions, you make sure everyone has health care, a high school education and birth control. Not the exact opposite.

abaldwin360:

When I’m at my most cynical I almost believe that the Republican Party is conspiracy to force women into abortions.

In countries where the GOP dream of making abortion illegal has been realized, abortion rates are higher than countries where access is available.

In Arizona where anti-abortion crusaders have passed some of the most restrictive women’s health laws in the country, abortion rates seemed to have increased.

And nothing is more incomprehensible than the GOP’s campaign against what should be seen as the greatest victory for pro-lifers in decades: the contraception mandate.

Women will receive in any insurance plan contraception with no co-pays. And nothing the government has ever done will prevent more abortions.

Several states have mandated that insurance include contraception for years. The reasons for this are obvious. Reproductive health care is basic health care for women. Not only does contraception save insurers and the public the costs of unwanted children, it’s necessary for many women to treat common health problems. Arguing against including contraception in insurance because it may violate an employer’s beliefs is like arguing insurance shouldn’t cover kids born out of wedlock.

In America, you have the freedom of your beliefs. And I have the freedom to not have your beliefs thrust upon me.

PEOPLE OF TUMBLR!

bebinn:

god-is-prochoice:

amissanissa:

I have a HUGE favor to ask of you! Here in Vegas we have the Women’s Resource Medical Centers of Southern Nevada. They provide help for those who are seeking help in unfavorable circumstances due to unplanned pregnancy. However, they provide an alternative to Planned Parenthood- they help people choose Life. Now as any organization needs money in order to help, so does WRMCSN. Because of that, they are holding a Race For Life, a walk/run to help fundraise money to support struggling women in Las Vegas. My college youth group, Redemption, has formed a team, and we would greatly appreciate it if you could help us raise at least $500 for the Center. We already had one person donate $100 last night, which is such a praise report! Of course, you don’t have to donate that much. Merely a dollar brings us that much closer to our goal!

Here’s the link: https://sna.etapestry.com/fundraiser/WomensResourceCentersofSou/RaceforLife2012/donate.do?sponsor=1931.0.679836718

And of course, if you have any questions about the Center:

http://www.wrmcsn.org/

If you donate, please put “Tumblr” and a random number in your donation message, i.e. Tumblr 5923, then message me via Tumblr with that same message, and I’ll flood your inbox with love and silly questions

DO NOT GO TO OR SUPPORT THIS LOCATION. DO NOT CONTACT THEM. DO NOT SEEK THEIR HELP. THEY DO NOT WANT TO HELP YOU. THEY WANT TO FORCE YOU INTO PREGNANCY. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU, YOUR LIFE, YOUR OPTIONS, YOUR HEALTH, OR YOUR FUTURE. ONCE AGAIN, DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION.

PLEASE, PEOPLE, REBLOG THIS POST WITH MY MESSAGE. LET THE WORLD KNOW THAT THIS IS A CPC AND NOT A REAL MEDICAL FACILITY.

For fuck’s sake, it’s completely misleading to call yourself a medical center if the only medical services you offer are store-bought pregnancy tests and “limited” ultrasounds. It’s obvious that by calling themselves a medical center, they’re hoping to trick people into thinking they provide abortion services.

Republicans should just be honest.
They see fetuses conceived in rape as a blessing from God and because the fetus was conceived in rape, the rape was a blessing too since it resulted in the fetus.
They are pro-rape because they see it as a blessing.

Rabble

What the fuck did I just read.

Yep, this is how “pro-lifers” think.
…maybe I should have put the word “think” in quote marks.

The so-called “pro-life” movement’s philosophy.

One of the best political cartoons that I’ve seen.

You know what pisses me off about this?  Really, REALLY pisses me off?  That’s George (H.W.) Bush holding that umbrella.  He was president 1981-1989.  Do you get that?
It means that the right have not budged an inch on their ridiculous pro-foetus, anti-actual-persons position in THIRTY GODDAMN YEARS. We should not still be having this argument! Thirty year old political cartoons should be bafflingly opaque, not crystal clear!

^ Reblogging again for that comment.

Oh I’m reblogging this again because I noticed a mistake in the commentary that I didn’t correct last night: Bush Sr. was President from 1989-1993.  He was VICE-President from 1981-89.  That’s all, otherwise commentary is badass.
