Stop using Troy Davis’ death for your own political gain. It’s sick, twisted, and disgusting. You can’t compare a living, breathing, sentient human being with a fetus. Troy Davis was a man with a family who loved him. He was a man who was unfairly targeted, tried, convicted, and killed. There was too much doubt to convict and kill that man.

A fetus is a potential human being. It lives inside the body of another person. It does not feel, think, or breathe. It cannot live outside of another person’s body. It has human DNA, but that in no way means it has rights. The only person who can decide if they want to be or stay pregnant is the person who has to carry that pregnancy to term. If you cannot see the difference between the two, there is something very wrong with you.

So please, just stop it. It’s sickening and extremely insulting. It’s also an insult to everyone’s intelligence. I’m pretty sure if that was you or your family member who was just killed, you wouldn’t want them to compared to a fetus. Think about that the next time you want to utter that falsehood.

But, like most things, there are exceptions where abortion would be the best option for rape or incest, ect ect. I just don’t understand why this ok with people. It doesn’t matter how you look at it, you are still murdering a human being, regardless if that person is still in Utero. You are robbing that person of a potentially healthy life. The fetus will never have a chance to feel, think, laugh, cry, learn, BREATHE, love, hurt, eat, the touch of a soft animal, any of that because some idiot didn’t want to take the responsibility that comes from have sex.

I am not sure why this has anything to do with the man who was convicted and killed last night, or why these two subjects were put together, but, to me, it is wrong.

Let me take the time to explain to you exactly why you are wrong:

If you think abortion is the “easy way out”, I strongly suggest you actually talk to someone who has had one. It is a decision that people come to after exploring all of their options. No one just wakes up one day and says “Today seems like a great day for an abortion.” You seem to be a believer of the myth that people who seek abortions just didn’t want to use birth control. There, you are completely wrong. All forms of birth control have a rate of failure. There have even been cases where tubal ligation has failed. If that happens, abortion is always an option.

You also believe there should be exceptions for rape and incest, but everyone else doesn’t deserve the choice. Why is that? Are some people’s lives more valuable than other’s to you?

That sentence bugs the hell out of me. You’re basically saying that the fetus’s potential life is more important that the life of the pregnant person. What kind of sense does that make? There are people that would rather kill themselves than be pregnant. There are people whose bodies physically can’t handle pregnancy. There are people who never want kids. There are people who don’t want anymore kids. There are people who don’t want kids right now. There are people who cannot afford the costs of pregnancy, childbirth, and parenthood. There are people who mentally can’t handle pregnancy. Should they just not have sex? Is sex only for procreation to you?

Sorry to burst your little bubble, but people have sex because they like it. Consent to sex does not now, and will never be consent to pregnancy. Another person’s sex life is not any of your business. You have no right to judge anyone for the choices that they make. If you hate abortion so much, I strongly suggest that you never get one.

Oh, one last thing, don’t even think about saying “But they can put it up for adoption!” Adoption is an alternative to parenthood, not pregnancy. It does not solve the problem for the person who does not want to be pregnant.
